IBM BigFix provides remote control, patch management, software distribution, operating system deployment, network access protection and hardware and software inventory functionality
Lucidum uses the IBM BigFix connector to ingest data from BigFix.
To use the IBM BigFix in Lucidum:
Before configuring the BigFix connector in Lucidum, you must first define credentials for Lucidum with access to the BigFix API.
You can then configure the IBM BigFix connector in Lucidum and start ingesting data from IBM BigFix.
Prerequisite: Define Credentials for Lucidum in IBM BigFix
To create a console operator account for use by Lucidum:
Login to the IBM BigFix as a Master Operator.
Click the Tools > Create Operator menu item
In the Add User dialog box, enter a user name and a password.
In the Console Operator window, select the Details tab.
Under the Interface Login Privileges, set the Can use REST API to YES.
Save the new operator account.
Configuring the IBM Big Fix Connector
To configure Lucidum to ingest data from IBM BigFix:
Log in to Lucidum.
In the left pane, click Connector.
In the Connector page, click Add Connector.
Scroll until you find the Connector for IBM Big Fix. Click Connect. The Settings page appears.
In the Settings page, enter the following:
Host. The hostname or IP address of the IBM BigFix server
Port. Optional. The port of the IBM BigFix server. The default value is 52311.
User Name. The user name for the operator account you created in the previous section.
Password. The password for the operator account you created in the previous section.
API Token. Optional. An API token for IBM Big Fix.
Verify SSL. For future use.
To test the configuration, click Test.
If the connector is configured correctly, Lucidum displays a list of services that are accessible with the connector.
If the connector is not configured correctly, Lucidum displays an error message.
