Infoblox DDI consolidates DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and other core network services into a single platform, managed from a common console.
Creating a User with Read-Only API Access in Infoblox
To create a user account for Lucidum, go to the Infoblox panel.
Login to Infoblox as an administrator, click Administration -> Roles:
Click the plus sign on the right part of the page to add a new role.
Give this role an indicative name, and press next. In the Extensible Attributes page, click next again, then click Save & Add Permissions.
On the permissions page, click the plus sign to add permissions to the role we just created.
Lucidum needs read-only permissions to the following things, select them and click Save & Close.
Navigate to "Groups" and click the plus sign to create a new group.
Give this group an indicative name, and click Next.
Select the API checkbox to allow this group API access, and click the plus sign to add a role to it.
Navigate to Custom Roles and click the role we just created.
You should now see the role in the roles list. Make sure "API" is checked and click Save & Close.
Click the group we just created and then click the plus sign to create a new user. Fill in the details and click Save & Close.
Configuring the Connector for InfoBlox
To configure Lucidum to ingest data from InfoBlox:
Log in to Lucidum.
In the left pane, click Connector.
In the Connector page, click Add Connector.
Scroll until you find the Connector you want to configure. Click Connect. The Settings page appears.
In the Settings page, enter the following:
Host Name or IP Address (required) - The hostname or IP address of the Infoblox DDI server
Username (required) - The user name for a user account that has the read permission.
Password (required) - The password for a user account that has the read permission.
API Version. Specify the API version.
Verify SSL. For future use.
To test the configuration, click Test.
If the connector is not configured correctly, Lucidum displays an error message.
