Creating and Managing Tags

Tags are keywords you can assign to assets or users in Lucidum. You can define both the tag and its value.

Tags allow you to customize how you want to organize assets and users, using name:value pairs that work for your organization.

Creating a Tag

Tags are key:value pairs that you can create and assign to assets and users. Tags help you sort and manage assets and users.

Tags allow you to customize how you want to organize assets and users, using name:value pairs that work for your organization.

For example, you could create a tag for assets named “Maintenance”.

  • You could define the tag as Type List.

  • You could then define possible maintenance tasks like “Retire”, “Wipe”, “Upgrade”.

  • You could assign the Maintenance tag and a task value to specific assets.

  • You could then query which assets should be retired, which assets should be wiped, and which assets require an upgrade.

You can create Tags in the Tag Management page (Settings > Tag Management). Tags appear as fields in the Query pages and can be assigned to assets in the Query Results page.

To create a Tag:

  1. Navigate to the Tag Management page (Settings > Tag Management).

  2. Click the Add Tag (plus-sign) icon in the upper right.

  3. The Add Tag modal page appears:

    • Type. Select from List, Number, String, or Time.

    • Field Value. If you select List from the Field Type field, you must specify the possible values in this field. After entering each value, press Return.

  4. Click Add.
